Geograce signs deal to mine nickel in Isabela
LISTED GEOGRACE Resources Philippines, Inc. signed on Tuesday a deal with Tanco-led Geogen Corp. to extract nickel from a mine site in northern Luzon, the company told the stock exchange yesterday.
Under the deal, Geograce will exclusively develop and operate two adjacent mining areas — 45 and 60 hectares — in the municipality of Dinapigue in Isabela province until March next year, subject to renewal by both parties.

As the worsening global financial meltdown continues to hit economies all over the world, the Philippines being no exception, a number of our Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) have been laid off and are coming home jobless.

MANILA, Philippines - Publicly-listed Geograce Resources Philippines Inc. said it forged an exploration agreement with Brazil-based Companhia Vale do Rio Doce (CVRD), the largest iron ore producer and the world’s second-largest mining company.
